What's Happening Next

Now that GEICO has completed its relocation to its new Bethesda office, preparations are continuing to transition the Friendship Commons property toward future redevelopment.

In the coming weeks, the project team expects to begin installing a perimeter fence around the site.

This fencing is a standard safety and security measure that helps prepare the property for future work and ensures the site remains safe during the transition period.

What Neighbors Should Expect

Residents may notice crews on site placing fencing along the property perimeter. This work is expected to be temporary in duration and focused on safety and security of the site.

What You May Continue to See on Site

In addition to fence installation, neighbors may continue to see limited site preparation activities such as building clean-out, utility preparation, and approved tree-related work under the Forest Conservation Plan.
