EYA and JM Zell to transform GEICO campus as insurer prepares for Bethesda relocation

Bethesdas EYA and D.C.’s JM Zell Partners will redevelop GEICO’s corporate campus in Chevy Chase, according to Bethesda Today.


The insurance company has entered an agreement to sell the site to EYA, which specializes in townhomes and will lead the project at the 26-acre site at 5260 Western Ave., according to the report. A price was not disclosed.


The plans call for up to 336 multifamily apartments across three buildings as well as 184 townhomes. No specific site plans have been submitted and a community meeting is scheduled for Thursday to kick off the formal planning process, according to the report.
